Whether you're in construction, maintenance, or any industry that demands elevated work, our range of products help minimise risk and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Protect yourself - because when it comes to working at height, there’s no room for compromise.

HEIGHT SAFETY HARNESSES

With so many variations of harnesses available on the market, choosing the correct harness can be confusing.

All Full Body Harnesses should conform to EN361 and carry CE and/or UKCA safety markings.

The most important factor is how many Anchorage Points you require and this will usually depend on the type of task being performed. Harnesses offer multiple anchor point options; single point harnesses have only a rear connection point located on the back, between the shoulder blades (often referred to as a dorsal attachment point). Two point harnesses have a rear/dorsal point and an anchor point at the front, usually at chest level and referred to as a sternal attachment point.

You’ll find other harness options which offer additional points located below the sternal attachment point and at the sides of the harness. Connections at the side of the harness are referred to as ‘side D-Rings’ and are used to provide work positioning. We also supply harnesses with rescue attachment points which are ideal for workers who are involved in confined space applications.

FALL ARREST RESTRAINT AND WORK POSITIONING LANYARDS

Lanyards are a key part of PPE for a Safe System of Work whilst undertaking tasks at height. They are the connecting component between your Full Body Harness and Anchor Point.

Lanyards fall into categories based on their type and usage:

  • Fall Arrest/Shock Absorbing Lanyards to EN355 Standard. This type of Lanyard is used where a potential fall is unavoidable.

  • Restraint Lanyards to EN354. This type of Lanyard should be used where the Wearer is restricted from reaching the Fall Risk. Most commonly these applications are working inside a MEWP basket and connection to a horizontal lifeline to avoid a fall risk.

  • Work Positioning Lanyards (Pole Straps) to EN358. Work Positioning Lanyards offer the Wearer a third point of contact whilst working at height. The lanyard is wrapped around/through a pole, ladder or structure.

  • Personal Fall Limiters (PFLs) to EN360 Standard. PFLs are more compact versions of Fall Arrest Blocks/Steel Rope Lifelines (SRLs) which are becoming more popular than fixed length Fall Arrest/Shock Absorbing Lanyards. These devices act in a similar way to a car seat belt. They provide an instant lock off should a fall occur thus reducing the distance the Wearer might drop. This type of Lanyard is ideal if working at shorter heights.

SELF-RETRACTING LINES WITH ENERGY ABSORPTION

When the risk of falling cannot be removed, fall arrest protection is crucial. Similar in design to a seat belt, inertia reels will feed out as the user moves around until a sharp pull (force of a user falling or sudden jolt) is put on the device, causing the internal brake system to lock and offer energy absorbing abilities. These units are ideal for ensuring the user falls the shortest distance possible.

These devices are available with webbing, galvanised steel or stainless-steel cable and come in a range of lengths with different connecting options.

RESCUE FROM HEIGHT

One of the most overlooked aspects of working at height is planning for what happens if a fall occurs. If someone falls and is suspended in a fall arrest lanyard, time is critical - suspension trauma can set in quickly.

We have several products that can facilitate the rescue of a casualty such as full rescue kits, evacuation kits, recovery winches and self descending Fall Arrest units, all from market leading Manufacturers. Plus a range of additional accessories.
