Why Should I Have My Equipment Serviced?
A lot of people that own and use fall protection equipment do not realise that their products require annual and in some cases 6 monthly inspections by an approved competent person. Much like a car’s MOT the safe functions of each product need to be reviewed and tested to ensure they are working correctly. One slight rip or bit of damage may cause the unit to fail and the results could be life threatening.
With many units especially Self-Retracting blocks there can be internal damage, which will remain unnoticed until a load from a fall causes the unit to fail.
